In the beginning : Senegal

Swiss Fresh Water was founded in 2008 in a humanistic spirit and wanted to make drinking water of the highest quality available to as many people as possible.

To this end, Swiss Fresh Water designed a first prototype of a machine and online support services. The first machines were installed in 2012 in the Sine Saloum, a region of Senegal particularly affected by the problems of brackish and fluorinated water. From the outset, Swiss Fresh Water has been working in partnership with local authorities and has set up its own technical and commercial support structures on site. The activity has gradually expanded, and customer loyalty has been confirmed year after year. Development continued in 2019 with the creation of a subsidiary, West Africa Water.

Current presence

Based on several years of experience in its historical market, Swiss Fresh Water is expanding, and several projects are starting up in new markets.

Deployment in West Africa
In Ivory Coast and Cameroon, we are starting a pilot phase and partnerships have been initiated in this regard.

A test market in South America
Several machines have been deployed in Bolivia since 2019 as part of a project piloted in cooperation with the platform REPIC.

The first Swiss Fresh Water machine in Asia : Pakistan
Swiss Fresh Water starts a partnership in Pakistan with Khan GreenAsset to test the Swiss Fresh Water franchised water kiosk model in this market. A first pilot kiosk is in preparation. More than two-thirds of households in Pakistan drink contaminated water and every year 53,000 children die of diarrhoea there, according to UNICEF.

Projects in Indonesia and the Philippines
Swiss Fresh Water has entered into discussion with Swiss Green Project, an NGO active in Southwest Asia, about collaboration in Indonesia and the Philippines. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world with almost 300 million inhabitants.
